Cut-Out Collage Write Up

I feel like the dominant element of my top piece was the groups that I put my objects in. I cut out many objects similar to each other, but instead of putting all the similar objects with one another, I separated them and put them in different spots on the black paper. Another reason this piece "worked" was because I had a mix of geometric and organic shapes and blended them together. I put this piece under the "rhythm" category because there are some shapes the reoccur often, such as the leaves, squiggly lines. and swirls.

I feel like the dominant element of my bottom piece was that the shapes I included were mirroring each other. The symmetry of this piece really worked because it balanced out between the location of the organic shapes and the colors - black on white paper. I put this piece under the "balance" category because of the balance provided by the shapes and their locations.

Habits of Mind Wire Project

A habit of mind that I did well during the wire project is develop craft. I learned how to use the tools in order to shape and work with the wire quickly and easily. This allowed me to explore different areas of wire and enhance my project. Another habit of mind that I did well during the project was envision. I envisioned how I wanted my snowboarder to look and what I wanted to include in it.
A habit of mind that I did not execute very well was reflect. I did not talk with others about my project, nor did I personally and mentally reflect on my project. Therefore, I just did what I did and didn't think twice about it.
